WEBMASTER: This
is the presentation of the village, where my grandfather Theodoros Mellis(of
whom I proudly bear the name) was born.
Today is a nice day for Iliochori! After many years of waiting and sacrifices Iliochori and his people have an opportunity to make themself known with this website. Nobody believed untill now that Iliochori could keep up pace with the other towns of the Greece and the World.Since the first time that I arrived in ILIOCHORI, at the age of 13, I have been positively impressed by the place. I promised to myself that one day I was going to do something important for this town. Unfortunately not knowing the Greek language and provided my young age I didn't know really well what I could have done for my origin country. After I specialized as "Web Graphic Designer" I have decided that, having the necessary skills, I can begin to work to accomplish my promise. I consider myself an ambitious and brave person because, when I have just started to prepare this site, I was guided by a big enthusiasm but I had few materials usefull to my work! I have kept on collecting documents about history, legends, feasts, traditions of the entire region of Epirus and in particular of Iliochori. Specific publications about the town don't exist, in fact it's only mentioned with reference to Zagoria. I have been searching for some information on the net for a few years by now, but with no success. I can not but interview the elders of the town. I was reported that the pre-existent iconographic material was destroyed during the II world war by the nazis. Thank you to everybody for visiting the website of Iliochori and I hope you enjoy it. I will be waiting for all of you on occasion of the feasts(have a look at the page dedicated to them) of the town of the sun or even in other period of the year. In words we are all good in promising a lot but then when what one has promised doesn't come true it's no use promising. Personally I'm proude to have achieved the purpose predetermined but I will be more if anyone, having more information, could send it to me in order to further enrich the site. Your
